Every week-end we go out, party with our friends, stay late, drink a lot, have a head-ache in the next morning and then.....go to work and complain about fatigue!
Let`s take a break people!!
Why are we doing this?! Why do we need to go out of our homes every time we have some spare time?!
I did the opposite this week-end, and I feel great at this moment. It is almost 11:00 PM and I am well and not at all tired.
Being a longer week-end - in Romania, St. Andrew holiday is on the 30st of November - I wrote about this HERE - I had one extra day off-work.
Friday: woke up at 8:00AM to give someone a lift to the airport, got back home, fed the dog and crashed on the couch. Did not turn on the TV and grabbed a book - Pelinul Negru - a book about Chernobil and the life after the nuclear disaster. Instantly I realised how I want to spend the whole day.
It was a lovely Friday, with a late breakfast, a power nap around 3:00PM and a couple of movies in the evening. Awesome!
Saturday morning, went shopping, drove around one empty Bucharest - despite it was our national day and 100 years since Romania was founded! Never made it to the military parade but if you saw it once it is enough :) Made it back home, Xbox for a little while, a few more pages of the book went by and TV time for the night. Amazing feeling!
Today, Sunday, that one day when you check your office e-mail, and think about the agenda for the next week went by like a blast, Saw the Christmas Fair in Bucharest - saw the home of Santa Clause - dude was not there, of course he is getting ready for the big day, and it is not really his home because I saw the genuine one in Rovaniemi, Finland - drank a glass of hot wine, came back home where the real magic happens. Now I find myself writing this words and come to this conclusion: it is OK to have fun outside our homes, but do we really need all that time spent away with our friends or some people you meet in the pub? We do, but not that much as we think we do.
Taking a break from going out is what we really need. I am a people person but I realised that it is very natural to sit back and relax for a couple of days. It is also natural not to crave going out for a drink because everyone is doing so. I am not doing this anymore and I encourage you to do the same and then...comment on this article with your impressions.
Oh my, could it be the Christmas Spirit got to me earlier this year?! :)
Thank God it`s Sunday and I have to go to work tomorrow :))
